C-max is Very Like the Mazda 5 from the looks of it i havent been to look at them in the flesh yet so to speak.

No not wheel chair sons Deaf not profoundly yet but will be by adulthood they reckon and has problems on roads and that.

Qashqai and Zafira are the 2 i have seen in the flesh, also i to dont drive its the missus who will have that pleasure she tells me to decide i just drive it lol

Had a Safira on hire for two weeks back in 2007, it was solid to drive, but lacked a bit of feel. The new shape ones came out just after and they look much better.

I owned a Touran, very solid car and great to drive, with the ESP on, which had a button to turn it off whereas my S Max hides it in the menu, which is terrible if you have just driven onto some snow and need to switch it off pronto. If they did a 4WD Touran it would be a nice motor.

My family have a Renault dealership so I have driven a lot of their motors, the Grand Scenic has that daft central speedo and silly electronic hand brake. Feels like a boat at sea, which is ok if comfort is your thing, but on the narrow windy roads here you could be in the ditch before you felt the verge!

Toyota... no idea but it is a Toyota so it must be quality.

Nissan... ditto, and it is good looking to boot, but is it as practical?

In a similar position myself. We are after an MPV. Out of your choice I have personally checked out the Grand C-Max, Zafira and Grand Scenic. The Grand Scenic is still on our shortlist. Loaded with kit as standard, a good drive. The only downsides are the sea of plastic and the second row seats don't fold flat. The Renault is a bargain for what you get. You are stuck with it for the next 3 years so you want something you find practical and enjoy driving.

When are you due to change? The current list runs April - June. Sometimes prices change dramaticaly when list changes. Our current car changed to half the previous lists price. Have spoken to a few dealers in my search so far and a few - especially Ford - said they will have trouble getting paint pigment as they source from Japan. They are currently taking orders for late July delivery.

I am sure you know you need to do a proper test drive. Not just a trip round the block with the salesman. Take it home, take it to the shops, commute to work. Load the boot up with any equipment you need to take with you to make sure it fits.

See flat folding seats is a must for me going to go look at some at the weekend and see if any the wife likes enough to book test drives on car choice is available in this quarter and i agree the prices change drastically sometimes the Mazda 5 when we got it nearly 3 years ago only cost £400 deposit will be sad to see it go as its served us well but no way on earth would i pay £3000 deposit

Recently had both Zafira and Grand Scenic on extended test drives, Zafira was a better drive, but also drove the old Verso (was the T180 variant though) and that was better than both, also had the best interior and felt it would stand up to family life well.
The dealer I purchased my Grandis from was most unkind about Fords interior build quality (and too be honest all the fords I have had or driven haven't been the most solid) saying that the C-Max and Galaxy interiors self destructed, he was an independent with a C-max in stock.
Qashqai is supposed to be good and Nissan build is great too, I'd be looking at that and the Toyota (on the proviso that Toyota have sorted the rear belt retraction issues).

Carl.
