Had some brake blocks in the 90s, they were black bodies , may have been magnesium im not sure , they had a cooling fin type back, had orange coloured pads. Anyone know what they were called please.... mike
I've got em on all my bikes : squeeeel-tastic! Not the cheapest blocks to find any more as the BMX guys go mad for them. Expect to pay £20 a set on ebay. The finned one was the 'Superbrake', there were cheaper, non-finned ones but they are loved by the retro tourer crowd and now command big buck too
Koolstop salmon use the same compound and are a good bit cheaper than the NOS Scott mathausers. Available for Vs, canti's, road calipers etc. That's what I plan to get when i next buy pads. If you read the sheldon page above you'll note koolstop made the blocks for Scott/mathauser bitd.
