I remember them sitting on the showroom floor of my dealer. By that time I would have just stopped, looked at them, said "neat", and carried on to the back room to pick up that season's bike that had just been uncrated and PDI'd or to pick up parts.

They're considered BMX bikes. As stated in another thread, a majority of AA Pro BMX racers are in the 6' 190 lb. range.

When I was a kid a friend had a yellow one just like in the OP from his Dad's Yamaha dealership. He used to deliver papers on it in all seasons in Ontario. Once mountain bikes got popular he bragged about having the first full suspension bike.
 
a mate of mine had a bike similar to the white yam above....but it was a peugeot....oh, and blue! 82ish.
