What are these 6 speed Shimano Shifters ? old time trial ?

I have found these shifters which are supposed to be fixed on a 22.2 mm tube

They are Indexed 6 speed or friction for the right side

I had never seen these . Unfortunately, they do not bear a reference number to relate them to a known Shimano Group

They seem good quality build but have probably lost some rubber covers or the upper part of the shifters

Does anybody knows these ?

probably with a 22.2 diameter ,
but seen no pic of identical ones on the net !

Look like stem fitting to me........USA safety meant you had to have a huge rubber cover which looks like it's missing, eventually stopped on safety grounds I think..........one lever for each testicle in case of a frontal impact

Same safety that stopped the "stabby" straight Campag QR skewers

Look like stem fitting to me........USA safety meant you had to have a huge rubber cover which looks like it's missing, eventually stopped on safety grounds I think..........one lever for each testicle in case of a frontal impact

Wow. Is there a technique involved - like wheels attached to the frame, hanging from the rafters or mounted on the car roof rack.....or do you simply just need to be born and bred American to rip your balls off with a QR skewer handle?

I pal of mine had a bike with them, highsided it and indeed managed to tear a hole in his scrotum on his way over the bars. :shock:
