what are judy dh lowers made of?

got a red judy dh here that looks badly beaten. thought about stripping the paint and... well, how about anodizeing? are the lowers made of alloy? polishing these up possible?

They are made of magnesium, so unfortunatly, the solution has to be respray.

If you are going to respray, do not remove all the original paint, because original primary is a lot better and a lot stronger than any other you can apply. Just clean the legs with sandpaper (1200 waterpaper is the best afaik) until they loose that polished surface, and then, bang! New colour.
