They were super flexy, thin-soled, gave no protection against toestraps, weren't in any way waterproof and yet I absolutely loved them. Just found them again in the loft. Duegi Tomacs if I remember correctly...

Ah, those were the days.

I had the early alpinestars. the sole ripped off trying to unclip after 2months of use... also fairly flexy

I had teh Caratti copies of those. Suprisingly lasted a couple of years before teh sole where teh cleat is broke. Had dominator 2's after that.
 
I thought the Shimano Sandle SPD's were pretty..... well :?
Try doing a downhill run in them :lol:
 
I had a pair of those boots i tried to drill for SPD's without too much success....

Oh- and i love my SPD sandals :-) Good enought for Sheldon..................
