Didn't realise yours was fluted

Merry Christmas to you too :)

Yep it's got odd flat bits on the tubes, BITD some makers made aero robes with a vice LOL

It wasn't uncommon for builders to change the shape and profile of tubes from the original spec.

The first to make aero profile tubes was an Italian former track rider: the process was copied by some large manufacturers, but only Colnago (I think) paid him any royalties.

There's a video interview and associated blog post explaining this, which my memory is failing to recall: bear with me...

Afternoon Mr ScillySuffolk ,. The two parts of the sentence I typed should have no connection; bad grammar and too much beer :)

Talking of beer........

Re:

Hi,

Classic use of Excell Mexico I from the late 80's or early 90's - there are quite a few frames around - big names are Alain Michel - top Paris maker and Haral of Savoy.

A lot of the frames were not truly a lo-pro - as in most cases there was only approx. 5cm difference between the head set and top of seat tube - used mainly in triathlon.

Here is a quick rundown of the different tubes available from this period.
