Weinmann 7 bump red brake blocks

I have weinmann 7 bump red brake blocks, 42x11mm, on weinmann 500 brakes, I have aluminium Mavic sport rims.

Where can I get these brake blocks

I have seen lots of 4 or 6 bump red blocks but not 7.

I wanted to fit them into my brake shoes rather than replace the shoes with the smaller 36 mm ones.

My blocks are about 40 years old and are very hard, they make a worryingly loud scrapy noise! Are they normally a really hard block anyway?

If not available, what is the best alternative?

Not really worried about increasing brake efficiency, no one in Portugal uses brakes anyway :D

Re:

Thanks, I saw those but they are 6 bump 36mm, I wanted to find out if there is anywhere I can still get 7 bump 42mm length ones to fit my shoes.

If they are no longer available I will have to buy the 36mm shoes to take those blocks.

The red ones seemed a bit softer and wore down quicker..........didn't make much difference on my TT bike as the plan was never to brake :)

The theory was that red brake blocks were for allloy rims and had a softer compound, both Weinmann and Fibrax did red brake blocks allegedly for Alloy...........that was the theory back in the 1970's :)

Re:

The guy on ebay selling the grey ones says they feel like the same compound as the red ones, both are suitable for ali rims, it never rains when I am out on my bikes (I'm evil I know!) so I have ordered a grey set I will test them out and report back my experience.

Yes, it really is a slow day here :D

Red or black they dont really stop too well in the wet!

I dont use some of my machines in the wet so I couldn't say how well they work. The bikes I do use have modern block in them on alloy rims, even then the stopping power is not tremendous as they dont reall 'bite' and you have to look out and 'plan ahead', especially in busy traffic.
