I was earning my living as a piano mover, and one of my customers told me he had seen my website. He was also a bicyclist, and it turned out that we had a longtime mutual friend.
The man said he was a road cyclist, and that he hadn't ridden his mountain bike in over a year. It turned out that there was an interesting story behind his bike.
He was a longtime friend of filmmaker George Lucas, who also lives in Marin County, and had done George a favor ten years ago. George tried to pay him, but he didn't want money, so George sent someone to a bike shop with orders to get his friend a nice mountain bike.
This bike needs some love, and I would take it off his hands, but apparently it has sentimental value and the owner didn't care to part with it.
