Tubulars are the final part I need for this project, it's a 1988 Mondonico with Campy stuff...any suggestions for tubulars? thanks folks.

Vittoria Rallye? Good all round tyre for general use and not to expensive - in the UK anyway.

Not sure what else is still available in skinwall style. Veloflex?

Second the Vittorias, have some on my Perthus and they seem good, also used the Continental Giros which you can get in a skinwall, you should be able to get both for less than £15.00 a wheel.

You could check out ebay as NOS tyres do appear though due to the age they must be properly stored. They will not be cheap if you want original NOS such as Vittoria Seta CX silk tyres they normally go for around £70 a pair if you are lucky, I found a set which I was desparate for and paid £150 for the pair.

If its just the look you are after you will not go wrong with the Vittoria Rallyes

£17 seems decent value, comparable with a good quality training-spec clincher.

Hmm, not noticed those David. Good price and only 250gm, have you tried them yourself?

Have to confess, no, but they did seem to have the right retro look about them and cheapish to boot.

tubulars

Problem with modern tubs is they seem to be going to the 'all black' colour which does not suit older bikes.
Have a pair of Vittoria squadra pro time trial tyres 19mm, old stock, very well matured one like new the other ideal for the front. £30 posted.

Some of the Challenge tubs (try Ribble) are available in tan sidewall. Unfortunately, nobody seems to bring in the Pariji-Roubaix which would be ideal for the likes of L'eroica and general riding. I ran some Vittoria file-tread CX tubs for L'eroica - big fat airpocket for comfort, file tread for grip on the Tuscan toothpaste and retro-looking with light grey tread- need to check your clearances though.
