brake cable holder on the downtube..... :?:

Seller changed the ad. he meant the frontmech cable guide (jockey) that is damaged, nothing serious if you use a top pull mech.

that's not bad, though the price does seem steep considering this and that this bike isn't a mass bike...I dunno. I've read the story over on vrc; guess it just doesn't do anything for me.

btw, on another note, just clicked your www link; those are great photographs of some amazing places :D

mmm...i'm not so sure, i reckon its the cable stop at the top of seat tube thats missing.

enlarge the last bottom pic, appears to show the most detail. roller in another pic looks fine. i wonder if one of those yeti type derailler jobbies would work, cable outer straight from the top-tube stop direct to the mech swingarm?

or what about a clamp (kona style jobbie) cable stop.

either way a shame...still nice though :D

Thanks :D We had a great time in Utah and CO, this year it will be the Swiss Alps, but looking forward to come back to the US and ride some more classic trails. The Groovy/Bigwheel pics were taken in the local forest/dunes, a nice and hilly (for Dutch standards  ) playground 5 minutes from my house.

Interesting.

Frame looks a pearl white which is backed up by the seller. All the pics I'd seen made the frame look a flat white. Anyone actually know what colour the frames should be???

Should be pearl/metallic white, it has the correct decals and correct shop sticker along with the correct numbers and sig so if probably genuine, but how to fix the damage without destroying the frames true value. This is dictionary definition of wall art (unless you, spit spit, singlespeed it).

In my eyes a $1000 dollar mark up just for the paint and signiture is a bit rich....

This is the thread over on vrc that I was referring to earlier; IF52 has some good background on the Fatlanta, on hte 1st page:
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=250

IF52 can also be found here:

perhaps he might know
