I think it would be unusual to be able to get a 27.2 into an earlyish frame below Kilauea level - as the seat tubes were all 28.6, the seat post size obviously depends on the gauge and as the lower-level frames were 0.9 that leaves 26.8, so room for a post of 26.4-26.6. So I'd have thought you'd need to have had some quite heavy duty special reaming coming into the equation at some point to have room for a 27.2.
