I agree. But who wants an ugly weld when it’s possible to have a nice looking one that does the same job.To be fair, an ugly looking weld is no indication of its integrity. Look at Charlie Cunningham’s work, hardly pretty but I think he knew what he was doing!

Sheffield is a great place. Steeped in history.Can't say I'm ever likely to visit Vernon Barker Cycles because it's so far away from me and, frankly, Sheffield isn't much of an attraction. However, I quite like the look of this:
