Value of Orange Clockwork Black

Cornbeef

Retro Newbie
I have has this in my loft for several years and need to free up some space so I wondered what it may be worth.

It has some paint damage to the seatstays but is in otherwise reasonable condition.

It has the following components,
Mavic 217 rims, front has a Hope Hub, rear has Deore XT Hub.
8 speed rear Shimano Cassette, Deore XT rear Derailleur, front derallieur isnt marked.
Deore LX brakes and levers, X Lite bars and bar ends, PACE triple chainset.
It also has a lightweight alloy seat post but its un-identified.

Its a really clean bike and too good to sit in my loft.

Thank you in advance.

Keith.

Re:

Hi Keith. As always it'll be worth far more if you split it.

Full bike would probably sell for £100/150 at best as although it's a nice bike it's not the most desirable year or coloursceme for a Clockwork and it does not have the original parts.

If you split I'd expect you'd get around the following:
Frame and forks, £50/70.
Wheels, £50/70.
Gears and brakes, £40/50.
Crankset... Can't make out what it is but if it's decent then £50 at least.
The rest of the bits, £50/70.

It's a suntour front mech, 10 to 15 quid delivered depending on which it actually is.

It's a USE seatpost by the looks of it. 10 to 20 quid depending on how good and long it is.

Chainset, possibly middleburn or similar but poor pictures make it hard. PACE chainrings, at least the top is.
Get you 20 to 50 quid probably.

Full bike, not so much, they are buying for the few worthy parts.

Clockworks are not high end, just nostalgia to some people.

They might not be high end but there's certainly a decent market for them, unlike many others.

It keeps the prices low, but much higher than they should be for the frame. Like I said, nostalgia is what you are buying in the clockwork.

Anyway you've not told him it's a 1993 model yet!
