USE Suspension and cantilever brake issues?

Hi, I recently bought some retro USE suspension forks for one of my bikes but iam having trouble with the cantilever brakes. I fitted a cable hanger to the steerer and re-fitted my onza cantis to them but as there was no cable hanger on ther fork bridge when i pull the brake its making the fork rise with the cable tension. Would a different bridge fix this? Are fork bridges a standard size? and does anyone know where I may be able to get one in a similar style to fit the forks. Any help welcomed

Yeah thats what i feared, Its a shame if i cant use the onza cantis i think they are really smart, not something you see every day.

You can't run suspension forks with cantis unless the fork has the canti mount on it, otherwise the cable will slacken when the forks compress, and as you have discovered, pull the forks through some of their travel when not compressed.

If there is no way to fit a canti mount (looks like you could do something funky with the crown spaces if the steerer could be removed and say slip in the mount you have arsey fitted with the headset), then v brakes or new forks are the only solution if you want to run.those onza brakes. You could try and find a set of the onza v brakes essentially the same in looks as the cantis.

Another option would be to take off the brace and have a custom one with a canti stop made up based on the original one.

I'm not sure how much that would cost tho. If you really want cantis on that fork, you may want to take the bike to a machine shop and see what they think.

Depending on how handy you are would it not be possible to make a stop that could clamp through the brace.
You may need to shorten the cable over the wheel though.
I suspect the most reliable method would be a V though.
