Unknown E Stay frame

I noticed the bent tube just after I posted my comment. Didn't notice the wishbone vs. the other seat-stay type or the dropouts until now. I was just looking at the overall geometry, but I obviously neglected to look at the details.

Thanks for setting me straight. I'll be sure to be more careful in future posts.

I bought an 89 Alien in 1989 and rode it for years. I didn't know about all these other e-stay designs until about 6 months ago, so I'm a bit of a newbie. Since I found out about them, I've been collecting pics of all the different e-stay bikes I can find, and that Sears bike is the closest thing I've seen to that one on eBay.

Sorry to all for the misinformation. In my zeal to contribute, I neglected to first engage my brain.

You found the show us your e-stay post on here for more pictures ?

Nah, engage brain second if like me you get use to making mistakes

Yeah, thanks. That's where I got a lot of pictures.

I've compiled a library of images from this site as well as some random internet postings, and so far I count 32 different manufacturers of e-stay bikes, some of which had more than one version (i.e., Nishiki Alien, Ariel, Cascade, Pinnacle), plus I have pics of about a dozen or so different e-stay bikes that are of unknown origin, like the one this post refers to.

I've recently started buying many different kinds of e-stay bikes from eBay and Craigslist. A good many of them are in rough shape, and so I'm in the process of rebuilding them. For now, I'm just rebuilding them with the parts they came with (except for new tubes, tires, cables, brake shoes, etc.) so I can ride them, but eventually I will pimp-out some of the nicer ones with some primo parts. I'll post pics on the "show us your e-stay" page as soon as I have something worthy of showing off.

I'm so glad I found this website,
:D
but unfortunately, now that I've got the e-stay itch, I've been spending a lot of money.
:(
It's a good thing I'm single because I doubt anyone would tolerate me buying so many bikes.

Thanks Mikee. Glad to be here.

Not sure if you want to see any of my e-stay bikes until AFTER I rebuild them, although I do have one bike I bought recently that I can't figure out what it is, and I'd sure appeciate any opinions anyone would have concerning its origin. Can I post it here, or should I start a new post :?:

new post in the general or pre 96 sections please
and put pics of the bits up kinda before and after

mike

Looks very similar to this, except for the lugged seatube area, but still very similar.
