Wanted Uniglide Cassette

Does anyone has an uniglide cassette in decent condition for a decent price?

Looking for a 7 speed cassette, but I guess I can consider anything at this point.

Freehub is threaded inside not possible to update...

Thanks,

When you say the freehub is threaded on the inside, what do you mean by that? The more modern Hyperglide is threaded on the inside, Uniglide is threaded on the outside. There is also a rare freehub which has both internal and external threads and a narrow spline, which will take both Uniglide and Hyperglide cassettes.

Hi, I think I have one, but it comes with a Dura Ace 7400 rear wheel, as I can’t find my second chain whip to unscrew the Uniglide!

The freehub is a dura ace on a dura ace 7400 hub. From what I could find online it seems like this needs a very specific (and rare) tool to remove and is not compatible with any hyperglide free hub.

I think you need to take the cassette off and look at the freehub body.
-There was a Uniglide Dura Ace with a smaller diameter section on the end for the lock cog, so that a smaller lock cog down to 12 or 11 (?) teeth could be used.
-There was also a Dura Ace 7400 hub which had the normal size Uniglide thread, but also internal threads and one narrow spline. It could take either Uniglide or the incoming Hyperglide cassettes. It looks like the attached pics. See the additional internal threads hiding under the dust cap. See also it has one narrow spline.

Be sure what you’ve got before you buy anything! It’s quite easy to swap the freehub body to a Hyperglide one if you want to upgrade it, then you’ll not have to worry about it again.

Also, if you don’t already know: if you’re changing it because the teeth are worn out, with Uniglide cogs you can flip the individual cogs round and use the other side.
