Ultimecia - anyone know him?

Apologies if this is the wrong way of going about this but....

Bought a brakeset from him 30/8/11 and so far no goods or replies to emails. He has good feedback and this seems a bit odd as he also hasn't posted here since 7th Sept.

Anyone know him or can get in touch as 3 weeks is a long time!

You've waited long enough already...when you paid was it by gift or for goods in paypal?I'd get on to the mods now if I was you

Unfortunately I can't remember if it was sent as a gift or not and Paypal doesn't give details other than 'completed', so I'm a bit reluctant to go that route for recovery just yet as they will want to know why it was sent as a gift, if it was !

My own fault really but he has good feedback and a reasonable number of posts, which is why I wasn't a bit more careful.

I'll get in touch with the mods.

Next time use goods or services ..it's the only way to be sure ...at least your covered that way...good luck .ps it can't hurt to try to launch a dispute ...after all it's your money he has ....

I've now emailed the mods.

You are right re Paypal and I'm normally pretty careful but this one didn't ring any alarm bells at all, especially as it was for a relatively small sum ie. £25. Not the end of the world but bloody annoying all the same.

The guidance on the forum is to use "normal" paypal rather than gift. However if you know the forumista having had dealings with them before or there is good feedback then you could go against this advice if you wished.
Personally if someone has less than 50 or so posts or little/no feedback then I wouldn't be happy to use a gift transaction. Despite us all being here for the good of "the cause" there are always bad eggs about.

The reason I put up the post initially was that I thought there was a very high likelyhood that someone would know him and have some info if something like that had happened.

Over 300 posts and 13 +ve feedback tells me he is an enthusiast rather than someone who is at it.

Of course, I wasn't particularly talking about the gentleman in question, more the pitfalls of wheeling and dealing on here which are just like life itself. All to do with trust really. I sincerely hope everything is ok.
