uk postal problems?

Is anyone else experiencing abnormal delays in receiving packages lately or is just me? Items just seem to turn up as and when or if at all! I've already had one item go missing and can't lose more surely, it's putting me off buying..

This week's mail has been a bit random so far with today's turning up at 14:10..

Not been too bad aside from that though.

In 99.9% of cases it's the seller spinning a yarn.

I've never sent a parcel that's been stolen yet.

From my dad's business (which is very postal intensive) there are all kinds of things that don't turn up. Wrong postage, wrong address, damaged packaging, ineptitude. And we almost never sign for special delivery/recorded stuff, it justs get pushed through the letterbox.

It's quite a good service, but far from perfect.

In over 3 years of buying/selling i've only had one purchase lost. The seller showed proof of sending and 2 months later i got a refund from the post office.
That was my first ever purchase via this site. Never had a problem since. But i always get a correct proof of sending cert. from the post office. max £35

Same here.. except, if it's too big for the letterbox, postie knocks on the door and leaves it on the doorstep... whether we're in or not.

I posted an item to Lithuania,

After 3 weeks it still hadn't arrived, (sent recorded - signed for)

paypal had informed me of buyer raising a dispute (fair enough )

So I filled out & sent off the relevent claim forms to Royal Mail

Apparently if I dont have a proof of purchase for the item I sent and am claiming for Im Shafted!! (& I dont as I bought it 10 yrs ago!! :evil: :evil: )

Oh just remembered i did have a close miss when buying some HS33 the seller had sent via recorded post. End of the evening a woman knocked saying the postman left them on her door step. Not waiting for a signature :x

Everything seems fairly normal then

Was offered my money back for the mislaid item by the ebay seller so all ended well, even though i'd sooner have had the part but they didn't have any more which was a bummer.
The postman has got into a bad habit of leaving the odd oversize item in the doorway here too which i don't like. Just hope he shows up tomorrow with some goodies
