Turned out it was a 1997 Zaskar (Work in progress)

Bought this off Ebay, didn't know what it was, description was poor, photo was worse. I took a chance and it turned out to be a Zaskar, 16".

Now I had some blue bits, to go with the blue forks, RST 381, basic but in good nick. (£139 in 1997), so I chucked 'em on as a mock up.

So I've now started to polish the frame. Blue LX f-mech on it's way. Some bits will no doubt change, longer stem, blue LX r-mech, blue LX crankset.

Will see how it rides as it's so small, I usually go for 19" frames. (Though this 16" is 18" CtT)

Nice find.

Get some better forks if you can one day and some decals would finish it off.

It's coming on a treat with the polishing. Brasso and elbow grease. I have some black rigids I may try, I don't know if I'll notice the smallness of the frame though. I'll update as I go along.

how tall are you stu ,short legs long torso ?

i have had a few 16" zaskars over the years , not as day long comfy as
an 18 20 but for a woodsy blast ,brilliant
i'm 6' but a bit short legged btw

with rigids and a few component choices they make a great wheenie

6ft. 34" Trousers. I usually have my saddle around 37" top to pedal top with cranks at same angle as seat tube and pedal at bottom.
Varies slightly for Road/XC/Roungh stuff/Descents.

The small GT does feel more chuckable which is cool. I'll finish it and ride it, it's the only way I'll know.

But this did get me thinking about sizing, so I did this.

Polished, stem changed.
Reach is lnger now, doesn't feel as BMX like. It may get changed again.
