Retro Newbie
hi i have just recently started a new hobby restoring some retro road bikes. I think i have stumbled across a bike that is well above my knowledge to restore. I am hoping i can get a bit of help from anyone who knows anything about these bikes or has any information as where to find pictures of it in its original form etc. I think this bike has been painted over in spray paint so i am currently cleaning it like mad trying to get an idea of what it should originally look like. Thanks in advance for your help. I'll get pictures uploaded asap.

Hi, this any good, its out of the triumph 1956 catalogue. Terry

Your bike appears to be from before the Raleigh take over. I think it has the wrong forks, and a cheap standard roadster type headset, which would be 24 tpi. The on line history says BSA took over triumph cycles. This is not a BSA, or a Raleigh.
The brazed on cyclo gear hanger would make it 1950 at the latest.
This is a low end bike, but better pictures would help. The handlebar stem looked to be heavily corroded, and may not be safe to use.
