Trek 930 seatpost size

I have been given a project from a mate, to build up a bike from this frame he bought.

He supplied the forks too, I know they're too long but he insists on using them! :facepalm:
Anyway, I tried the 27.2 seatpost I had to see if it would fit. It didn't! It wobbled around in the tube :facepalm: The only other ones have spare are too big, at 34.9

So, does anyone know what size is right for this frame please?

My 1992 Singletrack 970, made from True Temper OXII Comp, also lugged, takes a 29.6mm seat post. Maybe this will help.
