trek 9.8 carbon 2003(mordern classic?)

This is just great... Yesterday morning this guy returned my PM (from the previous evening) stating that we had a deal over this bike. We had agreed a price and he asked how I would like to pay, he also said he would be going out to get a box to pack it all up for me. Great.
I PM'd him back with a few Q's about the frame, I wanted to exchange contact details and I also asked him how he would like to be paid as I can do most methods. I awaited his reply.
Yesterday evening he PM'd me telling me it's sold.
Sold! We had a deal mate. Gentlemen don't renege on their deals! (Unless something is drastically wrong.)
I PM'd him back asking for an explanation, he's read it but no answer. I guess he sold to someone who offered to pay more. I'm all for getting all you can, but not after agreeing to a sale.

Just been reading this thread , mmmmmmmmmmm
The flip side to this is , you put an ad in the wanted forum , you get mail ."Oh i have some of them in my little private collection still in the rapper never been opened ."
So then you have email tennis , while you bring the price down to a resonable level . you send a posting address , but no paypal or posting address is returned .
So these people who answer wanted ads , to those that genuinely help people out at resonable cost and little hassle , You are the backbone of Retrobike and i hope to meet some of you soon !
To those people who answer wanted ads , just to bragg that you have something i dont ( perhaps you dont need much standover height !!)
and then mess me about promising to sell to me and then never even bothering to reply to my emails when all goes quiet from your side , and i have a bike half built , which i was hoping to enter in botm 'cos its a team bike .

I DEARLY HOPE A RATHER LARGE BULLDOZER RUNS OVER YOUR PRICELESS COLLECTION OF BITS AND BIKES , AND THEN REVERSES BACK OVER THEM TO ENSURE THEY HAVE HAD A SUITABLE CRUSHING !!
