Travel Agents

Does anyone have any experience of using Travel Agents with V-Brake and Drop Levers?

I fitted a set to my old Galaxy with new XT V-Brakes and a set of Shimano 600 Levers and have not quite been able to get the brakes adjusted to a level that I am happy with.

I might just be doing something really stupid, but I'm thinking of ditching the whole idea. The basic problem is that I still think the amount of travel required from the levers is too much and I can't get enough force onto the brakes.

I do have an old set of cantilevers in the shed, but wanted that little bit extra braking force for when the bike is fully laden (given I'm a sizeable chap too!).

There are decent drop V levers (Tektro RL520) which work very well indeed and at around £16 solve the problem with minimum hassle.

Yeah, that might be the best option, but would ideally like to get the current set-up working. The Travel Agents cost more than a new set of Tektro or Cane Creek levers!
