Trailer ID?

Nailed it, that is what it is, all bar the shouting, but is made by TW-Bents.

I know the guy using it, just wanted to sound like I am in the know when I see him. Looks darn light! ;)

It's not a BOB but a cheaper version. Edinburgh Bicycle Coop (?) used to sell them and I've seen similar ones elsewhere recently. They were about half the price of a 'Yak' but l can't see any reason why they shouldnt be just as good - seem a bit of a bargain.
I've used a BOB for years, infact these days it's permanently affixed to the Breezer ..I'd never return to panniers, BOBs are fab!

..actually it looks a bit smaller than a BOB, - the bag that comes with the BOB holds about 100L, that one looks a fair bit less ?

oops, hadn't read that
It looks exactly the same as the ones I was referring to, perhaps the design's been rebranded over the years. As for weight, they ain't that light, BOBs 12lbs and the others a bit more. An alum version could save a heap of weight though, and potentially be stiffer, but wouldn't be as welcomed by tourists in remote spots I guess.

It is the 2nd one he has found at the dump!

Lucky git!

:)

I wish that I could find one at the dump - it would be just the job for carting a few trail maintenance tools around and going camping at the weekend. 8)

It is a really nice piece of kit, I suggested he add some webbing, rather than having to bungee all his shopping together.

I didn't think to ask what he did with the other one, must remember.

It looks like it could be used on moderate trails, of course it folds so it would fit snug under a flysheet when you are off hammering the trails.

:)

They are surprisingly good off road and can handle more than 'moderate' trails. The low centre of gravity and better distribution of the load makes them handle far better than panniers, infact with a medium load your bike handles much the same as normal. The single wheel 'tracks' really well and allows you to lean, so you can really throw it about on single track. The only thing that has 'em beat is ruts, but it's not something I've found to be much of a problem. If you flip em over (the BOB at least) they make a useful table too. :D
I have no car so depend on mine for everything. I once lugged over 100lbs of sand in it, though everything was swaying and twisting ..just about ok in a straight line, -a case of grit your teeth and winch, boy!

This is good to hear, I may need to take a trial of it, and offer him some dough for the other one if he still has it.

I used to use my trailer for carting kids and all sorts around in Denmark. It was a lot bigger though.

:)
