I have a pair of nice old non aero lever with old brown gum campy hoods, they are a little torn where they flex, anyone successfully re-glued repaired these? hints?? Ta!
I did an extensive repair once. I had no other option than doing this or trow them off, as they hung loose around the levers.
Both hoods could be taken off as they were open on the underside over the entire length (see pic). I covered the lever housing with very thin black tape - the flexible tape I normally use for end tape on the handle bar. On top the tape I put clear Bison-kit glue and I carefully placed the hoods back. Levers and handle bar tape sat fitted on the bar when I did that. Afterwards I applied silicon based vaseline on the hoods. It is a solution for a bike you like to preserve patina on and that is occasionally used as rider. I am happy to have been able to resurrect the globe hoods.
