Hi there..



I'm a full time cycle mechanic and from time to time I come across interesting bikes..



My main interest is mountain bikes so when I come across something old and interesting I buy it

I only just discovered this site so I'd like your opinions ,thoughts ,valuations on this as far as I can tell original muddyfox explorer......

What a great find! Looks pretty much original to me, perhaps even the tyres? Can’t quite see a logo/make on them (viewing on phone) so can’t be certain. Great to see you have the original pad set too! Not a Muddy Fox expert, but a friend had one back in the late 80s. Lovely bike with an awesome Suntour groupset.

Value wise up to £300 if cleaned up and kept original, perhaps more? You can search this site and eBay for sold prices. Looks like it will clean up well.

Looks great! Does that seatpost move?! If you did want to move it on you’d certainly get some interest on here. I think it’s from 1988.

You might even get a couple of quid for the Duracell lights too. Sadly these are secured to the bike by effectively driving a screw against the frame/handlebar finish. Not the best bit of design!

Thanks again..Haven't tried to move the seat yet might just give it a good wd 40 first .
Had a cracking gsr giant long ago but the post was solid..
Lights are amazing ...guy I got it from has another couple of old mtb's....watch this space!!

I sold one of these a couple of years back. To be fair it was genuinely in mint condition and the only non original part was the saddle. Think it was about £320 I got for it.

That's good to know gt....think I'll get this one cleaned up and see what I have under the years off grime...
