Threading Cable into a XT-739 Shifter

Started my first "from scratch" build a few weeks ago. Its a 1996 Iboc zero-G SX, my first bike I bought was a 96 hilltopper that I thrashed, so I always wanted another mongoose from that era. I've done pleanty of work on my bikes, but never really got into the re-cabling at any point.

So sorry for the nube question, and I have goggled ant looked for manuals, but I've had no luck. I've have other shifters with a hole to put it through, but the xt-739's I assume you need to take it apart? Maybe I just blind and can't see the damn thing! I took off the small panel (shown in the picture) but no obvious place to thread it.. I figured I'd ask here before I start fiddling with it and possibly break it. So any sage advice is welcomed.

Re:

Click the shifter till the hook part appears.
Twist the barrel adjuster to line up the slots.
Hook onto hanger, then push through slots.

Job done.

Yes!! Thanks. Pretty easy once you know what to look for. Thanks again!

pics of the bike for good measure.

your set of shifters did come with the cover and two small screws right? if you haven't taken them off yourself then those are missing on your set it looks.
