This is why I save bearings and headset parts from parts bikes......new headset for the sierra without spending any money... the old parts were rust pitted and the grease on the bearings was solidified ..would have looked better if I had a black race for the bottom....but it works for me

yes it is a giant built schwinn sierra.....1986, black chrome, 23" frame..... I picked it out a big pile of stuff people put out because they were moving.... the good thing is I only had to buy a new chain and grips... everything else I had to get it ready to ride..... here are some before and a fairly recent after pic
