As i'm not Mr 'Popular' here. And i'm not getting enough cycling in. I'm now looking for the best form of in-door cycle trainer to use for the price. I had rollers BITD so where is the best place to get rollers? Or should i try a diffierent type? Also a cycle computer nothing too expensive. As i've haven't got much left on the card.
As This year i've got to get fitter. No more buying bike parts. No point in riding the business if i can't keep up.
Views on indoor trainers/computers ASAP. As i'd like to get started ASAP I'm not getting any younger. :(

i had one. Never really got round to setting it up. I think they are ok if you leave them set up and have the space to have a bike somewhere indoor that you want to cycle (ie: near the tv). But i found the set up and dismantle (swapping my pimpy skewers so they didn't get scuffed by the device, a bit of a hassle.

Got a rowing machine instead. Love that thing.

I've probably got a spare old cycle computer I can give you at the Thetford meet if that's any good?

As for turbo trainers..........BORING

Well no problem leaving it all set up. As home for one. At the mo.
Yes i know boring but. Its better than no training. Alas i wont be at the Thetford meet as at a race that day.
But thanks for the offer young 'jango' :D :D

I have a set of rollers, used to use them for training as I prefered them to my turbo. Get more of a sense of riding the bike, and you can fall off!!
I also used them for my track racing days, to keep the legs turning between races.
I can highly recommend them, but would CERTAINLY advise a road bike on them not an MTB.
As for a cycle computer, my wife got me an Atech F13 from Maplin (the gadget store). It does MPH (or KPH), max speed, clock, odometer, average speed, trip distance and trip time. All for roughly £15 8) It is also wireless, which helps. I have used it 3 times since Christmas, and it does the job nicely. It also stood up to a very muddy ride on Saturday.

I got myself this one for christmas. Dead easy to set up and use. Yes boring but better than nothing when wet and cold and dark and you've got to babysit

you can always watch telly, listen to radio/iPod at the same time. Even read a book

I overdid it a bit in the run-up to xmas though and have now got patellar tendinitis (sore knee) which is taking a while to heal.
