I bet I'll qualify for a tee-shirt before (nearly) all of you
I was just thinking the same thing about myself - not a pleasant thought either......
It was brought home to me yesterday - I went out for a ride yesterday and got chatting to some Downhillers, who were course building for next weekends race.
Several things struck me -
1) That it's always the same few people in any club that end up doing most of the hard work - these guys have done loads of building and digging.
2) Without exception, how nice they all were - how they didn't just dismiss me as "some old fart on a singlespeed", and how superbly skilled the best of them were. I rode down some of the course with them and even the "chicken routes" involved some extreme stuff (especially at race speed).
3) How old it made me feel when I realised that I'm not only old enough (in theory) to be any of their fathers, but in some cases their grandfather.
