Yes, we have a challenge for all of you attending Mountain Mayhem, and those of you not coming can help too.. Doesn't matter if you're coming as a rider, a helper or a spectator..all are included....
We are holding a scrapheap challenge !!
Basically inbetween now and Mountain Mayhem you have to gather up parts to build a bike. Not entirely different to what we all do everyday but here is the catch.
The Parts have to be free or of very little value.WHY..because the completed bike will be auctioned off for charity
So what do you have to do
1) Decide if you fancy taking up the challenge on your own or in a team
2) Let me know who is in your team so we can keep track of who is involved.
3) Start scavenging for parts for your build
4) Arrive at MM and get the thing togetherBy Midday on Saturday (the later you start the more points you get)
5) Do atleast one lap of MM on the bike (get a picture of it on the course if possible) !!!!!!!!
6) Wait for the judging panel to work out a winner.
7) Donate it to the auction
Sit back and feel good about yourself.
Rules:
1. The Total build should cost as little as possible, keep track as points will be awarded for this ( a la top gear challenges). (If someone sends you a component for free but you pay postage this can be ignored from the total build cost.)
2. The Frame should be no later than 1995..
3. You can use new cables etc if you need to get the thing working on the day, but old manky ones will score you points.
4. The bike should be built up at Mountain Mayhem. If you want to do some prep work then fine, but we will deduct points for this.the build components will have to be presented to the judges prior to start of the build ...
Note - We will be bringing most of the tools you need plus a big bag of spares so don't worry if you don't have a Headset press etc, there will be one for you to use...
We will sort out judging panel based on criteria we make up along the way
So, get your teams organised, let me know youre up for it by posting here or dropping me a PM ...and get scrounging !!!!!
