The internet ?

The internet, I didn't grow up with it, now computers except that zx81 I had which was enough to tell me they were a waste of time I was not interested in, but I came back to computers via the internet only five years ago, and as a divorcee, it enhanced my life massively, I found new interests and met new people, some of whom are now close friends.

But now I believe I have a problem, no longer do I veg in front of the tv, that thing is hardly on anymore, but instead, it is the internet and forums.

So I try to ask myself, surely internet is better than vegging in front of the goggle box, but it also has its problems, as it is a device for all needs and there can become an addiction.

If I quit the use of the internet, how could I rid the addiction of the usual swearing at the computer and damning microsoft to hell every time the thing takes it's time over starting up.

As to living without it, yes I think I would like to, as the negatives require attention, but for me to be rid of the internet, the internet will have to cease to be, as I will always find a way, addiction demands that.

But I do question now what life will be without the internet, no ebay, no mindless chatter, no easy access to information. To be without the net, it would mean back to out of date books and libraries and joining societies for common interests and meeting people, all of which held their problems, so, with knowledge of before and now, it is a toughie.
