Chainstay bridge

Just arrived and it is super sweet :)

I just noticed that the 2 Teesdale frames sold on E-bay do not have a bridge on the elevated chainstays! I read on a test in MBA from 90 that the earlier frames cracked without it :(

I would consider having one fitted while there is no paint on it,, a pretty easy job

Do you have a link to that article?

Mine's the one with paint .... T_T

I have the copy of MBA but its at the framebuilders with a frame having the said job done

Then to the paint shop!

Most of the Braves ive seen on the net have the bridge fitted..apart from the Chief and the other frame Tom sold..

I think if its going to be ridden, that the bridge is a no brainer

Where on the e-stays is the bridge you are taking about?

Alternatively, where (on the bike, not what builder) are you getting yours retrofitted?

The bridge is at the usual chainstay location and up against the seat tube.

Think the problem was the chainstays flexing at this point (the ones without a bridge!) and leading to a failure..

I will post up a piccy of mine as soon as its done..

I refer to the Unpainted Chief and the Grove one that Tom sold himself..Like i said most others have the bidge allready there 8)

thats it

you got it :D

Have a look at the pics of the unpainted Chief and you will see the stays without it
