Can you help me with this shoe plate problem, please.

I have thread-locked the bolts in to place as the plates keep shifting when out on the bike in spite of the bolts being well horsed up beforehand. They are normally positioned fully back towards the heels of both shoes. You can see how much they have shifted by the gaps between the arrows in this photo:

Any ideas?? Roughen up the shoeplate/ shoe surfaces? Put sandpaper in between the plates and the soles? Set fire to them and put my Time plates back on again?!!

:?

Re:

Is it just the left one in photo that moves or are they before and after pics? Which threadlock are you using? Replace slots with hex socket bolts for better torque, are a few immediate questions/options

Re:

Both of the shoe plates shift during a ride, but you'll notice that the right one shifts more than the left for some reason (drive side!).

I'm using Loctite threadlock and it's about as strong as you can imagine - any stronger and it would be GLUE! I am warey of using allen head bolts as they can chew with threadlock when trying to unscrew them to replace the shoe plates . . .

Re:

Hope it's not the green stuff, you may never get them out again. Loctite 243 blue should do it but add a star or crinkle washer under the bolt head.

Re:

A crinkle washer!!!! Awesome! I can't wait to ask the local DIY shoppe
guy - he's a cheeky bar steward and takes the you-know-what out of everyone that goes into his little Aladin's Cave!

Best look for an external star washer, preferably a stainless one, plenty on the bay for pennies. Crinkle is the term non engineers use, I hear it a lot :)
