Our BT contract is up soon, so been looking at the alternatives and TalkTalk is looking quite a bargain compared to BT, so anyone using or been using as feedback would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

I signed up with Talk talk a few years ago and they completely eff'd up the transfer from BT, but so did Plus net last year.
Plus net did , though, refund my money. Talk Talk still owe me £25 but the hoops that have to jumped through to get a refund are too frustrating.
I'm still with BT...
There's a lot to be said for "Better the devil you know"!

The bt wifi thing is great - get the app on your phone and nick other bt customers wifi wherever you go. Never had a problem with BT , now that phone/broadband contracts have come more in line with mobile contracts you can phone BT up and threaten to leave etc. That alone knocked £30 off our bill each month.

If you read the internet reviews everything is shit.

I have had good service from both BT and Sky, decent speeds and good support when required, the app for WiFi is a bit poo, but it does work most of the time it just tends to find and connect to the BT-Fon, Openzine, BT-wifi hotspots first even if your home network is in range and you have to force connection to your own faster connection. Apart from that my infinity service has been fine and fast for 2 years and far outstrips the supposed equivalent Virgin fibre connection we have at the office on our development network.

Carl.

yeah, i'm with them. Had no problems whatsoever. But I am a very limited user - a bit of web research, a few forums/email and that's me done. I don't do gaming, U-tube stuff etc and probably use it for no more than a couple hrs/week.

I did notice that it was poor during the olympics & world cup finals, so maybe in times of heavy demand I'm getting a poor stream to my pc. - not sure if I even know what I mean, but it was really slow.

You can get other benefits- a free TV box (which I haven't taken them up on) and some decent mobile contracts - smart phone with web access and free calls & text for £10/month.

our experience with TT was very bad - kept billing us for 8 months after we'd gone over to combined sky tv/ phone/ bb

I'm with TalkTalk, my experience is that if you have any problems customer service is useless......maybe that's why they are cheaper?

Been with talktalk before with no problems, went with plusnet fantastic, when we had a problem, they went the extra mile to help us out. and the thret to leave droped the price and we went to fibre at the same time.
