hmm, my rockies take a 26.8..

Thats not too pricey really, I paid (far) more than that for a boxed NOS alu one. Which I still have as I don't like using NOS stuff!

There was one for sale on stw for £65, prolly the same one actually :?

Have you still got just the 3 Rockies as in your sig ?

The '92 Altitude takes a 27.0 (as do pretty much all RM's from that year, bar a few Alu one's)

My Bonty takes 27.0mm, but its a high start price. If it goes up from there i'm not interested

The Experience was different, but pretty sure all the others I have had are 26.8. I tried a 27.0 in some of them and it was a clear no fit. How odd.
Will double check the 92 - not actually put a post back in that one!
Certainly the 96 Hammer, 96 Altitude, 2000 Vertex Sc, 2002 Vertex, 2004 Blizzrd are/were 26.8.
Will check on the 95 Blizzard too.

Came obvious as I needed a 27.0 for the Goat, which I didn't have :?

There are 27.2mm titanium seatposts on ebay, not Syncros but look good quality:

Cheaper than the Syncros too, and buy it now. I tried to get titanium handlebars from this seller in one of their auctions but I suspect shill bidding was at work, but this is buy it now so there's no worries there.

Don't worry about the Altitude '92, don't want to put stress on the frame ;)
It says what they are in the catalouges on this site, though the later models they seem to to mention it.

Odd that in '93 when they altered the frames, the high end went to 27.2, the low budget to 26.8 and the mid at 27.0.

Odd how they thickened the tube so only a 26.8 would think later on though. When most eventually went to 27.2 as it 'showed it was light' and hence why it's now a standard size.

Lucky for me my '91 altitude, '92 fusion and my old mans '95 Marin Bear Valley SE all take 27.0 so I can use any with the same seatpost (though settings are wrong for the fusions smaller size and short top tube.)
