Picked up a NOS Syncros cattleprod stem off ebay and it looks proper on my Blizzard I'm looking to rebuild.

Only problem is that it was missing the bolt for the handlebar clamp when it arrived! Contacted the seller and he/she wasn't aware they were missing. Offered his/her apologizes and stated he/she didn't have them. :(

Can anyone tell me the proper bolt size and length? Would a LBS still carry the proper bolts to fit? Or can I find it at a local hardware store?

I have the older version of that and any standard bolt will fit.

Get a stainless steel one or a Ti one.

The head will recess into the top part and the length will be a touch shorter than going to the end.

I think it's M5

If I recall correctly the welded on bolt section clamp demands m6

The later full machined clamp requires m5 me thinks

Try 2cm length, that should do it

I personally would go for something steel, inox or not

Just been and tried something for you.

Your 'Rocky Mountain' stem bolts should fit perfectly.

5mm allen key head, and thread part is 2cm long.

(you may in fact notice similarity in design/style between the two.)

so grab them of the Stratos if it's still on there and test it, then go buy some.

EDIT just to add some picture pimpage

i've ordered from there. he doesn't do local pickup, and his shipping is a flat fee, so i don't tend to order unless i get quite a few things.

however that being said, the bolts from the RM stem i have do fit. and currently i've stolen those bolts for now for that purpose!
