I just got a pair of Sweet wings for a vintage build I am planning!
The cranks are in good shape but, as seen in the attached pic, are starting to show some wear. I have a couple of questions for those knowledgeable about these steel cranks.
1. Should I re-plate them (I would prefer nickel over chrome) to protect against rust? Maybe clear or powder coat?
2. If so is there anything I should keep in mind when sending them to a plating center?
3. Anything I should keep in mind when installing the cranks? I've heard about using loctite on the bolts but I'd like some confirmation on that. Other tips?
