SUP mavic rims - what is it

I've checked online but never found a definitive answer. I thought it meant ceramic but my rim just says x517 SUP but no ceramic decals.

"Soudé Usiné Process" i.e. Welded Machined Process. The rim joint is welded together (rather than pinned, as was common in older rims) and the weld is then machined smooth.
