I have shipped various parts to Mr K. for the past year and they seem to all take 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks to get to him in Manchester from here in California.

my park tools ts2 wheel jig (still sounds cool) came in 10 days from purchace in fact when tracked it was in the uk after 4 days an with customs for 4 then 2 days for parcel/wank to deliver with her £13.50 handling change they are shit and im sure its not legal grumble grumble 
Varied wait
I purchased a stumpjumper frame recently and it came from Florida to UK in four days, then went to customs. Tracking showed it released from customs in the morning and then it took six days for Royal mail to deliver it to Scotland. So in my experience its the UK side that slows it down not the US side. Also there were no extra charges and nothing to pay customs
I find its generally pretty good service from the US and Royal Mail. I have purchased a few things from Alaska, to do with my Huskies/sleddogs and I have had some things delivered within three working days, usually smaller items but still that is good service.
The only thing I have ever been asked to pay duty on was a pair of bib shorts and a jersey I got sent from back home in OZ. I ended up paying double the value and what was worse was my sister lives literally just around the corner from the factory, but I didnt want to hassle her so I got them sent direct. :cry:
Live and learn, though hearing some of these stories I think I may just be a bit lucky.
Or maybe because my bike stuff is all small, they think 'ohhh we wont charge them duty on kids stuff'

As an update on this :evil: :evil:
The seller has just dispatched the item, or USPS have received notification of an item, 3 weeks and a day after I 'won' it and still no refund of the difference of agreed price and the BIN, no contact either. Lucky I'm not in a hurry then.
