stif racing in Woodside quarry, leeds

This isn't a recent thing, in fact it was probably around 1998-99 ish. Stif that used to be in headingley had a few races in a old quarry just off the outer ring road near horsforth/Ireland wood area. The quarry is one of the places I used to go on mtb and motorbikes bitd. It's also been on the Itv programme, a touch of frost so famous in its own right. To my knowledge the quarry is used to ride off road motorbikes on now although not legally! There was planning submitted a few years back for x amount of dwellings and a proposal to move horsforth train station to the site but hasn't gone ahead to my knowledge. There was great crested newts on the site which will of stopped building am guessing but also money will have played a big part.
Anyway what I was wondering is if anyone on here ever took part in any of the races organised by stif and also if anyone has rode this area and has pictures?
I remember one guy that took part his name was Simon, he regularly rode around Roundhay park, this was his local haunt as he lived close by, back then I remember he had a planet x hardtail mtb and a Cannondale super v in red and yellow. Maybe this si is a member on here?
There's probably no one on here that knows any of what I've asked, but as the old saying goes, if you don't ask, you don't know.
Any input gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
Leigh

Re:

Used to play in Clayton woods and the bits of quarry that weren't being quarried when I was a kid (long before mtb's were invented), knew stiff in both premises in Headingley but wasn't aware they had races in quarry , it was a SS raleigh olympus with cowhorns back then

Local lad then I guess? I get up around there. I don't think the races were a big organised thing more of just a get together, but they had a track marked out that went from the top of the quarry down to the bottom. It was only in the quarry though not the woods.
The quarry has changed a lot now from when I was young was still a working quarry back then and I remember the dogs coming to the edge of the quarry when my dad and uncle would go to top of hills to ride down them as they were quite some hills back then.
