Partially
I've got an opinion either side of this one
Cable pinch bolts only need to 'pinch' the cable
They are only small typically M5, 5mm hex key driving a bolt with 7mm cap
They do screw into aluminium, if your putting a lot of torque into then you're over doing it
- Recommended torque setting is approx 50 -60 inch pounds or 5-6 lb/ft
- As opposed to 80-90 for a pivot (plus the stress endured in operation)
But I still don't use aluminium on the brake ones, but I do on the gear ones
My opinion is this one's borderline, in my super technical coin-toss, safety critical for sure, but not really high torque
I'd maybe use aluminium here if I had some good reason to, but not had that good reason
I just stick with what I know will work fine, not died yet!
