Hello All,

Just a quick one.

When did SRAM introduce there 1 to 1 shifter mech thing?

I have a new SRAM rear mech and was wondering how much back compatability there is?

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Mark

it was actually a sachs innovation if i remember correctl and SRAM satred using for themselves once they purchased Sachs. 96 sounds right though cause i remeber Bart had a pair in the Atlanta olympics w/ white great white grips.

first time i remember 1 2 1 was about 96 but i could be wrong . . . and probably am!

Ditto on 1996 or not far off it. My Santa Cruz heckler was built fall '97 and had second generation 1 to 1 ratio 9.0 SL gears. The early ones were simply called E.S.P.

Enjoy

wow, am i right then? was guessing! and i wrote 1 2 1 meaning 1 to 1 or 1:1, just being lazy with typing.

i've never personally liked gripshift, always thought it was the skid in a fat mans pants! :D

the shifters wear, giving sloppy shifts and the mechs are so easy to snap/bend, and the newer stuff is for the "showman's bike" or the garage queens, at work i only seem to sell sram mechs when the customer has broken theirs and doesn't want the expense of replacing the shifter aswel, otherwise it's shimano everytime.

shimano works. (except that flappy paddle bollox, that is poo. piles of the stuff! :D )
