The funny thing about 1990 Explosifs is that those Track Two forks were supposed to be suspect and were subject to a product recall. And yet you hardly ever see a 1990 Explosif that hasn't got its Track Twos still going strong. Can't have been much wrong with them then. Maybe just one duff batch?

The 1990 Track Two was perfectly fine. It was only the 1991 Track Two with the forged crown that was recalled due to suspected problems with the forging process... which is why you will have trouble finding a 1991 Explosif/Hot/Hei Hei with Track Two's as most people will have returned them for black P2 replacements.

That's interesting, I've never read that before and I've often read the opposite. But it certainly fits the facts better than the contrary story. I have literally never seen a 1991 Track Two, even though it was pictured in the catalogue (but not on the bikes) and I had seen a story that it was abandoned after the catalogue was finalised but before production. From what you say, the person who decided that the catalogue shots should be taken with P2s must have had a sixth sense! And it must be likely that there is the odd 1991 Track Two out there somewhere.
