Speed junkie.

.

Nissan 200sx S14.
Even more understated than a Skyline, cheaper to insure and you can upgrade them to make stupid power for not a lot of money.
Very good bang for your bucks

.

Subaru legacy estate GT-B(twin turbo 280bhp :D ) is also good, and similar to a stagea size wise.
I had a Legacy outback estate 2.5 non turbo auto, excellent car but v. juicy if you have a heavy right foot

I had a Merc 300E 24 valve that was the kind of car boy racers used to roll up next to and got a big surprise, I love stealth weapons!

:)

I had a W124 300E, loved it, beautiful engine. I had great fun once on the A9 north of Aviemore with a boy racer in a Calibra who couldn't understand how no matter what he did i could stay behind him with no noise or drama. Until I got bored and overtook him.

Sorry, an old Skyline will be a false economy... will take some up keep that baby. Unless you are good with the spanners...

Depends on budget but what about -

Lotus Excel
TVR 350i
Marcos
Scimitar SS1 (Nissan Turbo jobbie)

All plastic fantastic, but cheap and proper quick... with the exception of the excel :D :D
