just seen an old scott with a braket for spare spokes lol

That's really rather neat. Although another thing to rattle, and I'd be worried about the nipples coming loose and chucking a spare spoke into my wheel / chain / right calf.

All you do is tighten the nipple with a screwdriver. This kind of thing has been on classy touring bikes for over 50 years.

It would have been better to put the nipple end towards the rear wheel for better access. Far less fiddly.

BTW Friend of mine found few weeks ago interesting Kettler with shark fin combined with same style spoke holder:
