Sourcing Westwood rims

Hi folks,

I've got a couple of Westwood rimmed bikes. One's my main commuter and the other is to be for my other half as a main commuter (yes, I am a nutcase who rides a 1930s bike to work).

My bike's rims aren't great but are kind-of servicable, so long as I'm reasonably resigned to replacing the brake blocks every few weeks - but the rims on my other half's are completely shot (as in one has actually rusted through).

I've been trying to source 26 x 1 3/8ths rims (32 and 40 hole, respectively), to re-rim the wheels. One local place thought they had some NOS, but now don't think they have. A company in India cheerfully offered to send me a minimum of 8000 of each (urk). Anyone got any great sources for these?

Otherwise, I've heard that you can switch them (at the cost of originality) for 26 x 1 1/2" rims. Is that the case?

TIA!
