Sorry bottom bracket help again?

Retro Newbie
Hi I am new to the forum so be gentle with me :) I have had the great idea to resurrect my old school bike from its grave in the garage. I took it to pieces to paint it when I was about 12 and thats as far as it went, so it is basically a shell with a few bits on. Fast forward 40 years and I want to get it rolling again. It was a shell when I got it in the early seventies, so I have no idea what make it is. This is where the problem is, I need to order a bottom bracket cup set. It still had one cup on the chainring side which has a left hand thread. Once removed I tried it on the other side and it screws in there too. So I have a frame with two left hand threads. I have found a number on the frame by the seat stalk which reads 67821DA the bottom bracket is 70mm wide and has what looks like four spot welds around each side although they obviously are not. The frame was dark green originally (I think). Where can I get a cup set and crank from for this? I hope there is a picture on here of the cup. I look forward to any input from anyone.

Hmm, if 70mm it's an Italian BB, which has identical threads left and right hand sides. But they are both right hand threads, which unscrew anticlockwise.

Remember that the bottom bracket needs to fit the cranks too. Choose the spindle length to fit the cranks, shell to fit the frame.

I could do with getting some english cups to try and see if a pair of l/h thread ones do the trick. I am only going to go with a 46/48 chain gear and a sturmey 3 speed at the rear. I will have to get a rear wheel and chain gear to try to work out the cottered crank length.

Re:

That looks like a Raleigh cup which would be 26 threads per inch, which was a raleigh only standard. Raleigh bottom bracket was 70mm, but the RH cup screwed in flush.
Most old Bituish were 68mm, but the fixed cup had a shoulder.

The L side cup would be right hand thread, R side left hand thread.
I think the pic shows a left hand thread, but not sure.
So my guess is you have one of the Raleigh makes.

That doesn’t explain his assertion that this left hand thread screws in both sides..... :?

Wolfman01, is there nothing stamped on the surface at all?

Slight update, I think it may be a Raleigh frame. I have been looking on sheldon brown site and a lot of the markers point to this ie rear dropouts, seat post diameter, front fork nut size and keyhole-shaped axle slots. I am off to a bike shop in surbiton tomorow morning to have a chat as it definitely has two left hand bracket cups.

Unfortunately no I have cleaned it up a bit and nothing stamped anywhere. When I first got the frame way back when I vaguely remember having an issue before and just went to the local bike shop and got a cheap cup set. It is definitely 70mm without cups. The one pictured is a left hand thread? maybe I need to get a left hand Raleigh cup to try.
