Somec Frame?

Hi guys,

A workmate gave me an old Somec frame that was given to him. I'm a bit of a road 'noob' though and can't find any information on it. I can figure out that Somec is a small Italian company, and the frame tubing is Columbus TSX, but that's about it. I can't find anything with the same paint job (the paint is greener than the photos show).

I'm useless at figuring out how to show photos on here, so here's the gallery I created. The frame has Campagnolo dropouts and Cinelli lugs (? there is a small Cinelli like 'C' on some lugs). Frame number is A116 so I guess there aren't millions of these frames around!

I guess the DS dropout was damaged at some stage as it has been heated up, but if I could find matching paint this could be hidden as whatever failed has been repaired well.

Thanks for any help or leads!

Thanks. I'll try those options. It's a 54cm frame. A bit small for me, and I've got no bits for it so I think it will be wall art for the time being!

Dear Mr. Will

we congratulate with you for haveing bouthg a vintage Somec Frame.
We inform you that we have no more the old records office and because of this we can not tell you the exactly year of building.
The period should be around the 1994 and the Frame model is Elite SX.

We are always with great pleasure at your disposal.

Best Regards

Somec

LOL - well, her English is much better than my Italian, and they helped as much as they could which is great.

Always worth a go Mate...Looks like it could be a Google job of finding other Retro related road sites with any input for you?...
